The 180 Degree Rule is when camera's are placed on one side of two actors in a scenario such as a discussion scene. An imaginary line runs between the two characters and the cameras must stay on one side of the line throughout the scene, they can't cross the line otherwise the characters will appear to have switched places and this will confuse the audience.
