Match-on Action

While an action is taking place, there are two or more cameras filming and when edited the action cuts from one camera to the other. This gives the sense of that the action is taking place at the same time even if the action scenes were filmed hours apart. For a scene such as opening a door there would be cameras filming the character approaching the door, close up on the character turning the door handle, and then another filming the character walk through the door from either side of the door.
